Hibiscus sabdariffa, commonly known as roselle, is a species of flowering plant in the family Malvaceae. The calyces of the plant are used worldwide to make beverages, both hot and cold, and are known for their tart, cranberry-like flavour. Rich in anthocyanins and vitamin C, hibiscus has been used in traditional medicine across Africa and Asia.
